IELTS CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

(English Version)

The following cancellation and refund policy apply to the IELTS exam in modalities such as regular IELTS on paper, IELTS on computer.

 

  1. CANCELLATIONS

You can cancel your registration for IELTS on paper and IELTS on computer, by notifying your examining centre. The refund conditions depend on when you cancel and if exceptional circumstances apply.

TIME TO TEST DATE

1.1.  More than 14 days before the test:

If you cancel your IELTS test registration more than 14 days before the test, you will receive a 75% refund of the total test fee.

1.2. Within 14 days but more than 5 days before the test:

If you cancel your IELTS test registration within 14 days but more than 5 days before the test,t you will receive a 50% refund of the total test fee.

1.3 Within three days of the test:

If you cancel your IELTS test registration within 4 days of the test, you will not receive a refund.

1.4. On the test day or after the test:

If you cancel your IELTS test registration on the test day or after the test, no refund will be provided.

 

TEST TAKER EXCEPTIONS

 You may make a case for exceptional circumstances to your test centre before the test and up to five working days after the test date if you did not attend the test. Your test centre will respond to you within seven working days of receiving your case in writing. Your test centre will assess your case for exceptional circumstances.

All cases for exceptional circumstances and supporting evidence must be received by your test centre no later than five working days after the scheduled test date.

If your test centre approves your case, you will receive a full refund less an administration fee equivalent to 25%.

If your test centre does not approve your case, then the terms given in section 1 will apply.

We define exceptional circumstances as:

  • Serious medical conditions that prevent you from attending or performing normally on test day; such conditions require supporting evidence of a medical certificate from a qualified medical practitioner
  • Evidence of bereavement, trauma, or other forms of significant hardship
  • Military service

TEST CENTRE EXCEPTIONS

Under certain circumstances outside the test centre’s control, we may have to cancel your test. These circumstances include, but are not limited to, extreme weather conditions, natural disasters, civil unrest, and industrial action.

In these circumstances, your test centre will provide you with as much notice as possible and give you the choice of either:

A full refund, or,

A transfer to a future test date convenient to you.

  1. TRANSFERS

 You can request a single change of date for your IELTS exam if you are within the following deadlines and times (as applicable): 

  • More than 14 days before your IELTS exam:

If you are within this time to the date of your exam, you can do it for an additional 25% of the value paid for the exam. You must select a new test date, if and when available, within three months of your original test date. If you wish to change your test date to one that is later than three months after your initial test date, we will treat your date change as a cancellation.

You can change the date of your IELTS test only once. 

  • Within 14 and 5 days before the date of your IELTS test:

If you are within this time to the date of your exam (you can do it for an additional 50% of the value paid for the exam.

You must select a new test date, if and when available, within three months of your original test date. If you wish to change your test date to one that is later than three months after your initial test date, we will treat your date change as a cancellation.

You can change the date of your IELTS test only once. 

  • Within 4 days before the exam:

Any date change request made within 4 days of the exam date will be considered a cancellation. Consult section A. Cancellation of your IELTS exam on this same page for the conditions that will apply in this case.

 

NOTES

i.Your test centre is responsible for issuing refunds and organising transfers.

ii.Under section A. 2., the test centre is responsible for decisions related to test taker claims for exceptional circumstances.

iii.Under section A. 3., the test centre is responsible for decisions related to compensation, including eligibility and any amounts awarded.

iv.If local consumer protection law in the country you have registered to take the IELTS test provides for cancellation and transfer rights which are more favourable to the test taker than the rights set out above, then local consumer protection law will apply.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT           

  • I understand and acknowledge that completing this Application and payment Form does not guarantee that I will be enrolled in a test.
  • I understand and acknowledge that the North American School reserves the right to make changes in advance to optimize the work of the Speaking Examiner. Any changes that occur in the date and time of the Speaking Test will be automatically sent to the candidate via email to the email address registered in the system.
  • I understand the test result gained from this test registration cannot be used for application to UKVI for visa purposes.
  • I understand I must register for IELTS for UKVI to apply for a visa for the UK.
  • I acknowledge that by registering for the IELTS test at North American School I declare that I have read and agree to the cancellation and refund policies described here!

A seguinte política de cancelamento e reembolso se aplica ao exame IELTS nas modalidades IELTS em papel e IELTS no computador.

  1. CANCELAMENTOS

Você pode cancelar sua inscrição no IELTS em papel e no IELTS no computador, notificando o seu centro aplicador. As condições de reembolso dependem de quando você realiza o cancelamento e se há circunstâncias excepcionais envolvidas.

TEMPO ATÉ A DATA DO TESTE
1.1. Mais de 14 dias antes do teste:
Se você cancelar sua inscrição no exame IELTS com mais de 14 dias de antecedência da data da prova, receberá 75% de reembolso do valor total pago.

1.2. Dentro de 14 dias, mas mais de 5 dias antes do teste:
Se você cancelar sua inscrição no exame IELTS entre 14 e 5 dias antes da prova, receberá 50% de reembolso do valor total pago.

1.3. Dentro de 4 dias antes do teste:
Se você cancelar sua inscrição no exame IELTS dentro de 4 dias antes da prova, não haverá reembolso.

1.4. No dia do teste ou após o teste:
Se você cancelar sua inscrição no IELTS no dia da prova ou após a realização da mesma, nenhum reembolso será concedido.

EXCEÇÕES PARA CANDIDATOS

Você pode apresentar um pedido de circunstâncias excepcionais ao seu centro aplicador antes do teste e até cinco dias úteis após a data do exame, caso não tenha comparecido à prova. O centro responderá em até sete dias úteis após o recebimento do seu pedido por escrito. Seu caso será avaliado conforme as circunstâncias excepcionais apresentadas.

Todos os casos e os documentos comprobatórios devem ser enviados ao centro aplicador em até cinco dias úteis após a data agendada para o exame.

Se o seu pedido for aprovado, você receberá reembolso integral menos uma taxa administrativa de 25%.

Caso o pedido não seja aprovado, aplicam-se os termos descritos na seção 1 acima.

Circunstâncias excepcionais são definidas como:

  • Condições médicas graves que impeçam o comparecimento ou desempenho adequado no dia da prova (é necessário apresentar atestado médico de um profissional qualificado);
  • Luto, trauma ou outras formas de dificuldades significativas;
  • Serviço militar obrigatório.

EXCEÇÕES DO CENTRO APLICADOR

Em algumas situações fora do controle do centro aplicador, seu exame poderá ser cancelado. Estas situações incluem, mas não se limitam a: condições climáticas extremas, desastres naturais, distúrbios civis e greves.

Nesses casos, seu centro aplicador fornecerá o máximo de antecedência possível na comunicação e oferecerá a você a escolha entre:

  • Um reembolso total, ou
  • Uma remarcação para uma data futura conveniente para você.
  1. TRANSFERÊNCIAS

Você pode solicitar uma única alteração de data para o seu exame IELTS, desde que esteja dentro dos prazos abaixo:

  • Mais de 14 dias antes do exame IELTS:
    Se você estiver dentro deste período, poderá alterar a data do seu exame mediante o pagamento adicional de 25% do valor do exame.
    Você deve escolher uma nova data — se e quando disponível — dentro de três meses da data original. Se quiser remarcar para uma data após esse período, o pedido será tratado como um cancelamento.
    A mudança de data só pode ser feita uma vez.
  • Entre 14 e 5 dias antes da data do exame IELTS:
    Dentro deste período, será possível remarcar mediante o pagamento adicional de 50% do valor do exame.
    A nova data também deverá estar dentro de três meses da data original. Caso contrário, a solicitação será tratada como cancelamento.
    A mudança de data só pode ser feita uma vez.
  • Dentro de 4 dias antes do exame:
    Qualquer solicitação de mudança de data feita dentro de três dias antes da prova será considerada um cancelamento.
    Consulte a Seção A – Cancelamentos nesta mesma página para verificar as condições aplicáveis.

OBSERVAÇÕES
i. O centro aplicador é responsável por processar reembolsos e organizar transferências.
ii. Conforme a Seção A.2., o centro aplicador é responsável pelas decisões relacionadas a pedidos por circunstâncias excepcionais.
iii. Conforme a Seção A.3., o centro aplicador é responsável pelas decisões de compensação, incluindo elegibilidade e valores a serem concedidos.
iv. Se a legislação local de proteção ao consumidor no país onde você se inscreveu para fazer o teste IELTS for mais favorável do que as condições acima, a legislação local será aplicada.

DECLARAÇÃO DE CIÊNCIA E ACEITE

  • Estou ciente e reconheço que o preenchimento deste formulário de inscrição e pagamento não garante minha matrícula no exame.
  • Estou ciente e reconheço que a North American School se reserva o direito de realizar alterações prévias para otimizar a organização do Examinador da Parte Oral (Speaking). Quaisquer alterações na data e hora da prova oral serão automaticamente enviadas ao candidato por e-mail, no endereço cadastrado no sistema.
  • Estou ciente de que o resultado obtido nesta inscrição de exame não pode ser utilizado para solicitação de visto no Reino Unido (UKVI).
  • Estou ciente de que devo me inscrever no IELTS for UKVI para solicitar visto para o Reino Unido.
  • Declaro que, ao me inscrever para o exame IELTS na North American School, li e concordo com as políticas de cancelamento e reembolso descritas acima.
